Thomas on the CT River Watershed
Thomas Godbout is currently working on my Coast Guard 6-Pack License so I can charter in the state of CT. Tom is 30 years old and has been fishing the CT River and it’s tributaries since he was a young boy.
In the past 10 years I have focused on the larger predatory gamefish that occupy the CT River watershed. We get a Spring and Fall run of migratory striped bass that follow the migration of the Blueback Herring and Anadromous Alewive. The Herring and Alewives come up the CT River from Long Island Sound to spawn. Hot on their tales are the Striped Bass.
We also have a large population of Hold Over striped bass that occupy the tributaries and can be caught year round. Bass Harrassers, Striper Candy’s, and the Revolution Shads are my GO TO Baits. Specifically the Revolution Shads. 7″ and 9″. Tom has been tearing the stripers up, as you can see.
